12 trees are ready, some quite advanced trees
and we are ready to start around 9am
Will you come and plant a tree with us?
Community food forest planting & shared lunch 14/ 15/ 21/ 22 May
Come for an hour or more, bring the family if you like.
Each tree site will be deeply cultivated and a soak installed.
Stage 1 trees are growing for 3.5 years now, so you can see what it will look like in the future.
To mark the occasion, each tree planter and other supporters will get a map of all the trees – signed by Food Forest Ashburton Group members –
and over lunch we can answer your questions about food forests, permaculture and gardening.
Lunch will be in the new picnic shelter the council is building now AND we will supply you with hot drinks.
We will start on Saturday 14th of May at 9am,
shared lunch from 12-1pm
and more planting until 4pm.
We will do this also on Sunday the 15th – with the same timetable
and if necessary, also on the next weekend, Saturday the 21st and Sunday the 22nd of May
lunch to share or for yourself (if you are coming at lunchtime) – water is available onsite, shovel, wheelbarrow, pick, mattock if you want
Please, let us know when you would like to plant – so we can make sure there is room and tools available for you.
